Forest FirePlay ButtonMini Button

Save the Forest by Burning them ?

This animation was part of a documentary I made about wildfires, specifically focusing on the phenomenon of megafires. In this project, I explored the causes, impacts, and the growing frequency of these massive wildfires. Having a virtual forest allowed me to show the same forest over a span of more than 100 years, demonstrating the long-term effects and changes caused by wildfires.

Textile FlexiblePlay ButtonMini Button

Abyssal

This project, created with TouchDesigner, features a flexible canvas within a frame, displaying real-time oceanic visuals generated I developed. Visitors are invited to touch the canvas, which reacts to their touch, creating a meditative yet interactive experience. The system detects pressure on the canvas using a camera positioned behind the textile panel. An image recognition algorithm identifies pressure points by detecting visible bumps, which then cause the visual particles to react at the corresponding coordinates.

Time Cacophony

Statistical data, with its ability to monitor the evolution of various phenomena over long periods, serves as a powerful tool. However, when this data is presented in its raw form, often as impersonal charts or graphs, it can be difficult to connect with on a personal level.

During my research, I became fascinated by the musical qualities inherent in the statistics I was analyzing over time. Elements such as rhythm, cycles, acceleration, and silence were all present, reminiscent of a musical composition. This inspired me to reimagine how these data points could be expressed, transforming them into a musical format to enhance engagement and perception.

TarotPlay Button

Atlas of Tarot

In collaboration with Antonia Vincenza and Solveig Weimar, this project reinterprets tarot with new deconstructed symbols in the form of this painting.

I designed the user interaction, the randomizer that pick a symbol and the animation that follow it.

The Installation will be exhibited at Dutch Design Week 2024 and has been nominated for the Melkweg Award by the DAE.

Soulway

This project marks my first steps with video game engine. Inspired by The Little Prince and his tiny planet, we developed a choice-based game emphasizing that our actions, guided by our worldview, shape our reality. The game unfolds according to the player's choices on a miniature planet, where every action has immediate and visible effects. I collaborated with Solveig Weimar to create the environments and worked on the game mechanics, including developing a gravity system for the planet and making the scenery as vibrant as possible.

SoundscapePlay Button

Soundscape for Theater

I participated in making a soundcape for a theater piece led by Ian Biscoe, where the main actor used a virtual reality headset. Spectators could see his visions projected on the stage behind him, essentially entering his mind. I collaborated with Roey Tsemah who recorded clarinet sounds with Raf De Keninck. I then reworked these sounds, cutting and manipulating them digitally before composing the soundscape procedurally. Procedural generation means the soundscape is generated in real-time by an algorithm where I defined how certain sounds come and go and at which cadence, allowing it to adapt seamlessly to any length of live performance and ensuring that the soundscape is different each time.

Echoes

Using TouchDesigner and a fluid simulator, this project explores unique visuals generated by music in real-time. The visuals are continuously influenced by the rhythm, notes, and frequencies of the music being played. Projected on a ceiling on this video, these visuals have also been used during live music performances.

A Computer cool down with the air of the street

The concept of this strange PC is that during winter, it uses the outside fresh air to passively cool down via a water cooling system. During the summer, the air is exhausted outside, preventing heat accumulation in my bedroom. The niche community of PC makers on Reddit showed great interest in it, with a post I made about it reaching a million views.

BeeShelter

Apis Sanctuaries

This project aims to create shelters for solitary bees in urban areas, where natural refuges are scarce due to intensive maintenance and low vegetation coverage. The modular design of these shelters allows for easy attachment to the back of traffic signs, which are ubiquitous in cities. Using ceramic, a material with thermal properties suitable for bees and used since ancient Egypt for beekeeping, these shelters can also be easily reproduced with molds enabling a quick and easy deployment across urban area.

Reptile Sculpture Study

These pictures presents three of my sculptural works from early in my studies, focusing on reptiles and exploring different mediums. The first collection is a series of ceramic sculptures depicting dinosaur bones, blending the real and the fictional. The second is a crocodile sculpture made of paper. The third is a sculpture made of cardboard.

Living Matter

Created at the very beginning of my journey in art school more than 5 years ago, this texture project is a journey between photography, drawing, and sculpture. It highlights a personal fascination with details, changes in proportions, and the fluidity between media, which still drives me today.

As a design student, I began my journey with a preparatory year of art in Paris, where I am originally from, and I’m currently in my fourth year at the Design Academy Eindhoven in the Netherlands.

My curiosity leads me to constantly expand my skills, exploring new techniques and disciplines, making my creative approach versatile and adaptable. While I have a special interest in digital techniques, I also have a keen interest in the physicality of making things. I enjoy hands-on projects and the tangible aspects of design. Additionally, I find great value in research-driven projects that emphasize depth and context. I thrive in group settings, where my versatile skill set complements specialized profiles. I enjoy working on concepts with an artistic context, contributing with my technical perspective or conversely, offering creative solutions to technical challenges.

I’m currently seeking an internship for the first semester of next year, from September 2024, to gain professional experience before entering my diploma phase.
